Symptom
Instead of using the default value for your add-on domain directory, you have placed the directory under the /httpdocs path. For example, you have not created add-on-domain.com in /add-on-domain.com, but in /httpdocs/add-on-domain.com. Now your add-on domain does not work as expected any longer.
Cause
A document root directory inside another document root directory may use parts of the superordinated directory, e.g. .htaccess configuration settings. This will have an unpredictable impact on the subordinated website.
Solution
Never nest website directories. When you create a new domain, the web space control panel will suggest a suitable document root path for it. We encourage you to follow the suggestion. You can rename the path, but you should avoid to place it under another, existing document root directory.
